JOB SUMMARY:
The Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Clinical Fellowship is a mentored professional experience for individuals who have completed a Master’s degree from a CAA-accredited SLP program and hold a limited license from the Maryland Board of Speech Language Pathology. This fellowship is designed to support the transition from graduate student to independent clinical practitioner. Under the supervision of a fully licensed speech-language pathologist, the Clinical Fellow delivers patient-centered care in accordance with ASHA standards and the Maryland State Board of Examiners’ scope of practice.
Responsibilities include evaluating patients and developing and implementing treatment plans to improve and restore swallowing function, communication, and cognition. Through hands‑on clinical experience and ongoing mentorship, the Clinical Fellow develops advanced clinical competencies within their chosen practice setting. Successful completion of the Clinical Fellowship, along with fulfillment of ASHA requirements—including passing the Praxis examination—qualifies the fellow to apply for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP).
