Medical Assistant
United Urology Group seeks a skilled Medical Assistant to support clinical care, assist physicians, and maintain a safe and organized practice environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare daily exam rooms and stock supplies for patient care.
- Escort patients to exam rooms, take vital signs, and obtain urine specimens.
- Perform dip and automated urinalysis and microscopically review specimens when indicated.
- Triage patient calls for pharmacy requests, test results, medical questions, and concerns as directed by the physician; document outcomes in the EHR.
- Assist in maintaining logs and records for OSHA/MOSHA.
- Follow sterilization and disinfection practices throughout the facility.
- Adhere to bio‑hazardous or red bag waste policy for proper disposal of biomedical waste.
- Welcome and greet patients and visitors in person or over the phone.
- Travel to other sites within a reasonable geographic region as required.
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or at least one year of Medical Assistant experience in a medical clinic.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program (verified prior to employment).
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
- Experience in urology is a plus.
- Proficiency in triaging patients, phlebotomy, administering injections, obtaining vitals, and processing specimens.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD, and CPT codes.
- Proficient computer and database skills.
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Proficiency in patient inquiry and probing questions.
- Ability to multitask, solve problems proactively, and maintain professionalism.
- Hipaa compliance and a caring, compassionate attitude toward patients.
- Ability to listen, sit, stand, bend, stoop, and walk throughout the day.
- Frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Good physical condition to maneuver patients when necessary.
Pay range: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, skill level, and geographic location. Compensation may vary by state or region in accordance with applicable laws.
