The successful hire will support the department's mission to deliver exceptional clinical education and client-centered care in alignment with Loyola University Maryland's Jesuit commitment to educating the whole person, serving others, and promoting justice, and the Standards for Accreditation of Graduate Education Programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. As a SLHS clinical faculty, this person reports to the department Chair, with onsite management by the division director at the Loyola Clinical Centers (LCC), where teaching/supervision takes place (along with off-site supervision).

The LCC offers affordable, quality services in the areas of psychology, literacy, hearing, speech, and language to underserved members of the greater Baltimore community and provides hands-on clinical training to Loyola graduate students in their respective Divisions.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Organize and lead/co-lead student clinical orientation across all semesters of clinical teaching;
  • Provide intensive clinical instruction during the summer semester;
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to first-year graduate students, modeling professional behavior and ethical clinical practice;
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams working with Psychology and Audiology faculty, and
  • Lead monthly focus groups with their student cohort on topics related to culturally sustaining clinical practice in accordance with CAA standard 3B.

In addition, the successful candidate will engage in service to the department and, when appropriate, the university. Clinical faculty actively contribute to program development specific to their area of clinical practice and expertise, and support student recruitment and admissions, as appropriate.
