Rie Les Group is seeking an experienced Board‑Certified Therapeutic Medical Physicist to provide on‑site support for The Baltimore VA Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. The Baltimore VA Medical Center (VAMC) is part of the VA Maryland Health Care System and serves Veterans across the Baltimore region. Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
The Baltimore VA Medical Center seeks a Board‑Certified Therapeutic Medical Physicist (TMP) to provide advanced clinical physics support in radiation therapy, ensuring accurate treatment planning, dose delivery, and patient safety. The TMP will collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and therapists to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Support the clinical physics operations of the Radiation Oncology Service
- Perform QA procedures, calibrations, and dose verification following AAPM standards
- Participate in treatment planning and validation for 2D/3D Conformal, SRS, SRT, SBRT, and IMRT/VMAT modalities
- Oversee IGRT, cone beam CT imaging, and treatment equipment QA
- Conduct weekly and end‑of‑treatment chart reviews
- Maintain full clinical documentation in CPRS and ensure compliance with VA standards
- Education:
MS or PhD in Medical Physics or related discipline - Certification:
Board Certification in Medical Physics or Therapeutic Medical Physics by the A (required)
- QA procedures (Sun Nuclear/Sun Check preferred)
- ACR or ASTRO APeX accreditation
- Varian Linear Accelerators (Edge or equivalent)
- IGRT with Cone Beam CT (TG-142 standards)
- Eclipse/ARIA systems (2D/3D Conformal, SRS, SRT, SBRT, IMRT/VMAT per TG-53)
- IMRT QA (Map Check I/II or equivalent)
- Siemens SOMATOM go
- Open Pro CT Simulator (TG-66 standards)
Familiarity with the VA CPRS system and prior VA or federal healthcare experience.
Additional Requirements- U.S. Citizenship and successful completion of VA credentialing
- Compliance with CEU and licensure maintenance
- Not listed on the HHS OIG Exclusion List
