Medical Assistant
The Medical Assistant in Cardiology provides assistance in the examination and treatment of patients, under Physician/Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner supervision, in the ambulatory service clinical setting. Duties include: chart review before patient clinical visit; assisting physician with procedures/treatments; equipment operation; assisting patients in preparation for examination/procedure; performs venipuncture; specimen collection and submission to appropriate laboratory; cleaning and sterilization of instrumentation; order and inventory supplies;
records and documents in medical record; maintains examination/procedure room supplies; assists with efficient patient flow; assists with orientation of new staff; and participates in quality assurance programs.

Hours: Days/40 hours - NO NIGHTS OR WEEKENDS! Monday-Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesEducation:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program or relevant experience leading to certification.
- Completion of CMA certification with the credentials of RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CCMA or CMAA required prior to hire
- Valid BLS CPR certification required upon hire; JHH accepts AHA, Red Cross, and military training network
- Ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of CMA experience.

Salary Range: Minimum 19.25/hour - Maximum 31.80/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
