Amergis is currently seeking an experienced Licensed Addiction Counselor for a local contract assignment in Baltimore, MD!
Position Details- Setting:
Residential program - Licensure Accepted: CAC-AD, LCADC, LCPC, LCSW, LCSW-C, CSC-AD, ADT
- Contract Length: 6 weeks
- Start Date:
ASAP - Hourly Pay: dependent upon licensure
- Hours/Shift/
Schedule:
Days (8a-4:30p or 9a-5:30p), with 1 Evening shift per week (10a-6:30p or 11a-7:30p), and 1 weekend Dayshift every other weekend - 40 hours/week
The Licensed Addiction Counselor provides one on one drug and alcohol consultation to patients/clients; along with individual and group therapy in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient programs. The Licensed Addiction Counselor also provides crisis intervention and assists with behavioral health needs and issues including mental illness, developmental and learning disabilities, substance use, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provides health assessments
- Assists with analyzing patient health needs and establishes applicable treatment plans
- Provide individual and group treatment
- Consult unit staff in regard to diagnosis and treatment planning
- Provides crisis intervention to align with clinical standards
- Assigns patients to special programs and/or placements to meet health needs
- Provide proper clinical documentation
- Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work or public health required
- Current license or certificate in addictions/substance abuse counseling in the state of assignment required
- Experience in behavioral health guidelines, to include behavioral health assessments, individual and group therapy, clinical management of patients with mental illness and/or substance abuse issues preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
