Description

The Division of Pediatric Nephrology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time faculty member to start July 1, 2027. The division currently consists of 7 faculty, and is supported by a transplant NP, 3 clinic nurses, dedicated dieticians, behavioral health specialists, pharmacists, social workers, child life specialists and research coordinators. The faculty participate in a full range of academic activities, including clinical care, research, medical education, advocacy, and quality improvement.

The division has multiple clinical programs including an active kidney transplant program and the only outpatient dialysis unit dedicated to the care of children in the state of Maryland. The division provides the full range of inpatient dialysis services with the support of in-house dialysis nurses. Outpatient clinics are located throughout Maryland and the Washington DC area.

The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, the Johns Hopkins Hospital, and the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center are world-renowned, top-ranked, institutions with faculty that are consistently recognized as leaders in their fields. The Department of Pediatrics consists of over 250 full-time faculty members and clinical associates across 17 academic divisions, 232 part-time faculty, and 97 joint faculty. Over the past year the Children’s Center discharged more than 10,000 patients and conducted nearly 140,000 outpatient visits.

The Johns Hopkins Children’s Center is located in Baltimore City, near the downtown Inner Harbor area, just one of Baltimore’s many outstanding attractions. Duties and Responsibilities

The position is primarily clinical with 10% dedicated effort for education, but there are ample opportunities and mentorship for those interested in career development in clinical research, education and/or quality improvement. There is also opportunity to participate in multiple national/international clinical/research collaboratives.

Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
