Description:
Pediatric Dietitian position available.
Work Monday to Friday, with shifts from 08:30 to 17:00.Responsibilities include assessing patients nutritional status.
Develop appropriate medical nutrition therapy care plans.
Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients and caregivers.
Document recommendations for treatment in the patient s electronic medical record according to facility policy.
Communicate effectively with coworkers and families to ensure the food service plan is implemented and followed.
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds with medical, nursing, and rehabilitation staff.
Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members.
Perform all duties and responsibilities for designated inpatient and ambulatory care patients.
Function as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the patient s nutritional care plan.
Document recommendations and treatments per facility policy.
Comply with all hospital-wide and departmental policies and procedures.
Required to cover holidays as they are scheduled.
May be required to float to another location until specified date.
Weekend coverage is not required.
On-call duties are not required.
Patient population includes complex diagnoses.
The inpatient population contains patients with TPN, short gut, and various GI complications.
Will also work with some infants on tube feeds transitioning to oral intake.
Participation in outpatient programs is expected.
Essential skills include knowledge of abdominal wounds and surgeries, calorie counts, and enteral nutrition.
Prior experience in a children s hospital and familiarity with therapeutic diet orders are preferred.
Candidates must be comfortable with floating within scope and must adhere to compliance requirements.
All former staff must be away for a specified period before returning as a traveler.
Expectations include completing onboarding tasks in a timely manner.
