Position Summary The Outpatient Mental Health Clinician & Service Delivery Coordinator is a dual-role position that combines direct clinical service delivery with administrative coordination responsibilities. In the clinical capacity, this position provides individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and families experiencing mental health challenges. In the service delivery coordinator capacity, this position supports the operational efficiency of the OMHC — including scheduling, service authorization, documentation oversight, referral management, and coordination of care across internal programs and external providers.
This role is ideal for a licensed clinician who brings both strong therapeutic skills and organizational leadership instincts.
Key Responsibilities CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES Direct Clinical Services Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and families with diverse mental health needs including trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, and co-occurring conditions
Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans aligned to client goals and evidence-based best practices
Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, DBT-informed practice, and other clinically appropriate frameworks
Monitor and document client progress toward treatment goals and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated
Facilitate group therapy sessions as assigned — including psycho educational, process, and skills-based groups
Provide crisis intervention services and safety planning for clients experiencing acute mental health crises
Collaborate with psychiatrists, prescribers, and medical providers to coordinate integrated care for clients with co-occurring medical and mental health needs
Provide mandated reporting as required by Maryland law for any suspected abuse or neglect
Treatment Documentation & Compliance Complete all required clinical documentation accurately and within required time frames — including intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and prior authorization requests
Ensure all documentation meets COMAR, CARF, and OMHC regulatory and licensing standards
Maintain client records in the electronic health record (EHR) system in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies
Participate in clinical supervision, peer consultation, and quality assurance reviewsSERVICE DELIVERY COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES Scheduling & Access to Care Manage and maintain the OMHC client scheduling system — including new client intake appointments, ongoing therapy sessions, group schedules, and provider availability
Coordinate client waitlist management — prioritizing access based on clinical urgency and service availability
Monitor scheduling gaps and work proactively with clinical staff to maximize service delivery capacity
Ensure timely scheduling of initial appointments for new referrals — target first appointment within established access-to-care timelines
Referral Management & Care Coordination Receive, screen, and process incoming referrals from schools, hospitals, community partners, and self-referrals
Coordinate warm handoffs and transitions of care between OMHC services and other Children's Guild programs — including therapeutic schools, group homes, and TFCMaintain relationships with external referral sources and community partners — including pediatricians, school counselors, DCS, and community mental health organizations
