Patient Access Representative

The Patient Access Representative will provide front-line support to patients and families within the Emergency Department and admissions areas. Responsibilities include patient registration, admission documentation, financial discussions, data entry, and supporting hospital operations as an ED runner. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a high-volume environment.

• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Team-oriented mindset; ability to work collaboratively
• Ability to walk, stand, and frequently move between departments and patient rooms
• Comfort discussing financial responsibilities and payments with patients
• Proficiency with computers, typing, and multitasking
• Ability to work efficiently using dual monitors and hospital systems
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Prior healthcare or hospital experience
• Insurance knowledge
• Patient access, registration, admissions, or ED experience

• No specific education, certification, or license requirements provided.
