Job Description
Records Scanner is responsible for accurately preparing, scanning, indexing. electronic health
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize records for scanning by removing staples, paper clips, and other materials.
- Verify image quality and ensure scanned documents are legible and complete.
- Index and assign documents to the correct patient record.
- Maintain confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Conduct quality audits to identify and correct scanning errors.
- Retrieve, file, and archive medical records as needed.
- Communicate with healthcare staff regarding missing or incomplete documentation.
- Maintain document tracking logs and scanning productivity reports.
- Follow established procedures for records retention and destruction.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience scanning medical records or working in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain productivity while handling high-volume document processing.
- Proficient with computers, scanners, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Physical Requirements

- 1+ years of medical records scanning, health information management, or document imaging experience.
