Role Description The IOP Therapist/Treatment Coordinator (LMSW, LGPC, LGPAT) is a full-time, on-site position located in Baltimore, MD, responsible for providing direct clinical services within an intensive outpatient program for children and adolescents. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting biopsychosocial assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and facilitating group, family, and individual therapy sessions. The role involves coordinating care with psychiatrists, nurses, school personnel, and community providers, as well as monitoring progress, documenting services, and updating treatment plans in accordance with regulatory and agency standards.

The therapist/treatment coordinator will participate in treatment team meetings, contribute to discharge and aftercare planning, and maintain timely, accurate clinical records. Additional duties may include crisis intervention, psychoeducation for caregivers, and involvement in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Active Maryland licensure as LMSW, LGPC, or LGPAT (or eligibility for such), and completion of an accredited graduate program in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Art Therapy, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated skills in individual, group, and family therapy with children and adolescents, including assessment, treatment planning, and use of evidence-informed interventions.
  • Experience working in intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, or similar higher level of care settings, with ability to manage complex clinical presentations and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills, including proficiency with electronic health records, timely note-writing, and adherence to clinical, legal, and ethical standards.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work respectfully with youth, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds and to participate actively in team meetings.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, child and adolescent development, and common behavioral health diagnoses; familiarity with crisis intervention and risk assessment is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries, manage time in a fast-paced clinical environment, and demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and sound judgment.
  • CPR/First Aid certification and experience with school-based or community mental health services are preferred but not required.
