PGDx by Labcorp is seeking a Medical Director
- Pathologist to join our team in Baltimore, MD.

Job Summary:

The Medical Director
- Pathologist provides on-site medical leadership for the Baltimore laboratory and supports Labcorp Oncology precision oncology testing. The role includes clinical interpretation and sign-out of tissue- and blood-based oncology testing; tissue adequacy review and quality control for PGDx assays, Plasma Detect Genome, and future oncology assays; and medical oversight of assay development, validation, clinical studies, companion diagnostic programs, and product launches.

The position supports clinical quality, turnaround time, operational scale, and growth, with a primary focus on minimal residual disease (MRD).

Job Responsibilities
  • Review, interpret, and sign out tissue- and blood-based precision oncology cases in a timely manner.
  • Provide on-site medical coverage and medical oversight for the Baltimore laboratory and the PGDx testing portfolio, including Plasma Complete, Plasma Detect, elio tissue complete (ETC), and elio plasma focus (EPF).
  • Perform tissue adequacy review and quality control for PGDx assays, Omni Seq INSIGHT, Plasma Detect Genome, and future oncology assays, including landmark tissue assessment for tumor-informed MRD testing.
  • Provide pathology leadership for Plasma Detect Genome V2 development and launch, including tissue quality-control processes, clinical validation, evidence-generation studies, and operational readiness.
  • Provide pathology consultation for challenging specimens, test selection, case triage, and medical or technical questions.
  • Support assay development, verification, validation, product enhancement, and launch activities for precision oncology products.
  • Provide pathology leadership for clinical studies, evidence-generation programs, companion diagnostic activities, and biopharma collaborations.
  • Contribute to study design, data interpretation, abstracts, presentations, peer-reviewed publications, and scientific meetings.
  • Support quality systems, SOP development and review, quality metrics, proficiency and competency activities, investigations, corrective and preventive actions, accreditation requirements, laboratory inspections, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs, R&D, bioinformatics, digital pathology, data science, Operations, Quality, Commercial, marketing, customer service, and clinical teams.
  • Provide medical and scientific support for provider inquiries, field education, product positioning, medical messaging, launch readiness, customer engagement, molecular tumor boards, webinars, and clinical outreach.
  • Build effective relationships with external physicians, investigators, customers, and strategic partners.
