Vascular Technician Supervisor

Supervise the daily operations of the Vascular Laboratory. The position is responsible for ensuring high-quality non-invasive vascular testing, oversight of vascular technologists, equipment maintenance, protocol development, regulatory compliance, and staff education. Working collaboratively with the Medical Director and Clinical Coordinator, this role supports quality improvement initiatives, operational efficiency, and exceptional patient care.

• Supervises daily operations, scheduling, and workflow of vascular technologists.
• Performs and oversees high-quality non-invasive vascular ultrasound examinations.
• Maintains ultrasound equipment, quality assurance, and accreditation standards.
• Develops, implements, and updates vascular laboratory protocols with Medical Director.
• Trains, mentors, onboards, and evaluates vascular technologists.
• Ensures regulatory compliance, documentation accuracy, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
• Graduation from an AMA approved program in diagnostic ultrasound technology, preferred
• Certification as a registered vascular technologist (RVT), preferred, or certification eligibility. Must have certification within a year of employment.
• Five or more years of vascular ultrasound experience in an accredited vascular laboratory
• Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, vascular lab practices, operation of specialized ultrasound and vascular blood flow testing and related equipment, as well as universal safety precautions
• Knowledge of IAC accreditation and quality standards
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and quality improvement skills

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position.

Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
