The Medical Devices SA owns Cerner Care Aware platform architecture and bedside device integration. Medical devices are life-safety integrations;
Feta Link (fetal monitoring) is OB priority.

Key Responsibilities

Own Cerner Care Aware platform architecture for bedside device integration.
Architect Feta Link fetal monitoring integration for OB.
Configure MGate medical gateway for device aggregation.
Architect Mortara EKG and bedside cardiac monitoring integration.
Govern Camera Capture and clinical photo workflow.
Coordinate with biomedical engineering on device connectivity standards.
Govern FDA medical device cybersecurity controls.

Required Technical Skills Cerner Care Aware (required, mastery)

Cerner Care Aware platform architecture. Bedside device integration patterns. Care Aware iAware configuration. Patient identifier matching across device feeds.

OB Device Integration (required)

Feta Link fetal monitoring integration. OB-specific device workflow.

Cardiology Devices (required)

Mortara EKG and bedside cardiac monitoring integration.

Vital Signs Integration (required)

Vital Link vital signs integration. Bedside vitals capture and Power Chart documentation flow.

Medical Gateway (required)

MGate medical gateway configuration. Device aggregation patterns.

HL7 v2.x ORU (required)

HL7 v2.x ORU for device-sourced observations.

Network And Biomedical Coordination (required)
FDA Cybersecurity (required)

FDA medical device cybersecurity awareness. Premarket and postmarket cybersecurity guidance.

Cross-Tower Architecture (required)

Touchpoints with Power Chart (T1) for documentation and Surgi Net (T7) for OR device feeds.

Device Middleware (preferred)

IEEE 11073 device communication standards. Capsule Tech awareness. Other device middleware platforms.

Required Certifications

Cerner Millennium Foundations (mandatory)
Cerner Care Aware certification OR demonstrated 3+ years Care Aware integration (mandatory)
HL7 v2.x familiarity (mandatory)
