POSITION DUTIESThe main purpose of this position is to provide counseling clients with substance use disorders by using intervention, treatment and rehabilitation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSApplicants must meet all minimum qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire for the position in which they are applying. Please read all requirements before applying.
Education:
Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselor and Therapists under the requirements for Trainees.
Experience:
None.
The ideal candidate must be fluent in spoken and written English. The ideal candidate must effectively and respectfully communicate with diverse populations, providing services to individuals with different beliefs, behaviors, and interpersonal styles in confinement or community settings. Professional working fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, Korean, or any other language is a plus.
Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
Employees in this classification perform the work in a Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) or a Maryland State certified addictions program.
SELECTION PROCESSSuccessful candidates will be placed on the eligible (employment) list for at least one year.
EXAMINATION PROCESSThe assessment may consist of a rating of your education, training, and experience related to the requirements of the position.
