Position Summary:
The Host/ Hostess position is responsible for providing a positive patient experience with regard to meal service-- including Room Service at Johns Hopkins Bayview.
The Host/Hostess is involved with direct patient interaction and include the ordering, delivery, and removal of meal trays, using a hospital-issued tablet and mobile phone, following safety and sanitation requirements such as wearing proper PPE, using two patient identifiers when delivering meals, and verification of diet orders.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Work requires a high school level of educational or GED.
- One year of previous experience, preferably in food service and possessing knowledge related to different diet types. Computer skills preferred (to perform menu selections.)
- No certification, registration or licensure required.
- Work requires contact with patients and/or visitors which involve courtesy.
- Work requires the ability to understand and respond to simple written or verbal instructions. Incumbents must respond appropriately to instructions, questions, or requests for information. Work requires contact with patients and/or visitors which involve courtesy.
Shift:
Every weekend and holidays. Sunday through Saturday night shift 3:30pm to 7:30pm or 4pm to 8pm also flexible to work some morning if needed.
