Salary Range: $15.00- $30.00 Hourly

Baltimore City Department of Recreation & Parks is seeking to hire a Community Aide (Assistant Rental Coordinator). Assistant Rental Coordinator will serve the Department of Recreation & Parks supporting the Rental Program at Cylburn Arboretum and the Rawlings Conservatory under the guidance of the Rental Coordinator.

• Sales, coordination and contracts for rentals and special events; provide facility tours.
• Make and/or take potential customer calls, and sell event spaces, rooms, tables, chairs, and other equipment
• Follow all standard policies and procedures in handling reservations. Meet with clients to discuss their requirements for the event, such as number of guests, appropriate size of room and costs and prepare proposals as needed.
• Direct, coordinate and arrange for meetings and special events of various sizes.
• Work with day and evening groups and banquet businesses including weddings, rehearsal dinners, luncheons, dinners, receptions, dances, anniversary events, business and club meetings, family reunions, holiday parties and all meeting functions.
• Supervise event staff during events to ensure the quality of service for every event; including scheduling of event staff in advance.
• Serve as the primary contact between contractors, clients, organizers and organizations to ensure smooth execution of all functions supporting the programs and events.
• Attend to any problems or challenges that may arise during an event or any complaints concerning services provided promptly and to the client’s satisfaction; prepare reports as needed.
