Brief Description

Position Summary:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist, TAS, plays a crucial role in driving House of Ruth Maryland’s recruitment strategy and ensuring the agency attracts and retains top talent. The TAS is responsible for managing the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing candidates to onboarding new hires, while collaborating closely with hiring managers to meet staffing needs. The Talent Acquisition Specialist builds a diverse, high-performing workforce by proactively identifying qualified candidates, fostering a positive candidate experience, and promoting our employer brand.

With a focus on delivering high-quality recruitment services and ensuring alignment with organizational goals, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is an essential partner in our HR department, contributing to the growth and success of our agency.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Full-Cycle Recruiting:
    Manage the recruitment process from job posting to offer acceptance, ensuring an efficient and timely experience for candidates and hiring managers.
  • Sourcing Candidates:
    Proactively source, screen, and engage passive candidates through various channels (job boards, social media, networking, etc.).
  • Job Postings & Advertisement:
    Create compelling job descriptions and post openings across multiple job boards, internal channels, and social media platforms.
  • Interview Coordination:
    Schedule and facilitate interviews, ensuring a smooth candidate experience while maintaining a positive employer brand.
  • Candidate Assessment:
    Screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, and assess candidate qualifications to ensure alignment with job requirements.
  • Collaboration:

    Partner with hiring managers to understand their specific needs, help build recruitment strategies, and provide guidance throughout the hiring process.
  • Onboarding Support:
    Assist in preparing offer letters, pre-employment paperwork, and onboarding documentation for new hires.
  • Talent Pipeline Development:
    Build and maintain a network of qualified candidates for current and future job openings, maintaining ongoing relationships with top talent.
  • Recruitment Analytics & Reporting:
    Track and report on key recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and quality of hire to measure the effectiveness of recruitment efforts.
  • Employer Branding:
    Help promote the agency as an employer of choice through various platforms, events, and networking opportunities.
  • Compliance:
    Ensure all recruitment practices comply with applicable laws and regulations (EEOC, ADA, etc.), maintaining confidentiality and professionalism throughout the process.

Experience, Education, Certifications/Licenses
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in recruiting or talent acquisition, preferably in a nonprofit or similar environment.
  • Proficient with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment tools.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing techniques, job boards, and social media platforms for recruitment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • A passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the recruitment process.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems, particularly for candidate tracking and reporting.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with recruitment marketing and employer branding strategies.
  • Familiarity with recruitment analytics and reporting tools.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced or high-volume recruitment environment.
