Regulatory Compliance Specialist, HR Manager
Vaco has an exciting opportunity for a Regional HR Manager in Baltimore, Maryland. This is a direct hire role that sits 100% onsite with 25% travel. About the Role
A leading provider of transportation, logistics, and cargo-handling services is seeking a Regional Human Resources Manager to support a multi-site operation across several U.S. locations. This position will provide both strategic and hands‑on HR leadership in a fast-paced, unionized environment, overseeing the full employee lifecycle, labor relations, compliance, payroll coordination, workforce planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources management experience
- 3–5 years of experience in unionized environments, including labor relations and union dues administration (required)
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Ability to obtain industry-required credentials and site access certifications
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience supporting transportation, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, or industrial operations
- Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or equivalent
- Demonstrated, hands‑on labor relations experience, including grievance management, collective bargaining agreement interpretation, union communication, and contract administration
- Comfortable serving as the primary HR leader for multiple locations with significant day‑to‑day operational involvement
- Willing to work onsite and travel regularly to support regional facilities
- Available to start within a short timeframe
