Regulatory Compliance Specialist, HR Manager
Position Title: Vice President / Director of Human Resources (Confidential Search)

With a footprint scaling across the East Coast, we specialize in large-scale HVAC, plumbing, design-build, and mission-critical applications.
Position Objective We are seeking a highly strategic and operational Vice President / Director of Human Resources to lead our people strategy. This executive will bridge the gap between our corporate office and field operations, ensuring we attract, retain, and develop top-tier technical and corporate talent.
The ideal candidate possesses deep experience in the construction, engineering, or commercial service sectors and understands the unique dynamics of managing a hybrid workforce of skilled tradespeople and corporate professionals. This role will allow you to cast vision, create systems, and help us take our company through a ridiculously fun growth phase.
Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Talent Acquisition: Architect and execute robust recruiting pipelines specifically designed to capture highly competitive skilled trades and construction management professionals.
- Organizational Development: Standardize performance management, career pathing, and leadership development frameworks to support rapid company scaling.
- Compliance &
Risk Management:
Oversee all state and federal labor compliance across multiple operational states (VA, MD, DC, NC, SC, GA, PA, WV). Manage safety-adjacent HR protocols and mitigate employment risk. - Total Rewards Strategy: Evaluate, restructure, and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs to ensure market leadership in talent retention.
- Culture & Employee Relations: Serve as the strategic advisor to the executive team on culture integration, fostering a unified environment between state-of-the-art fabrication facilities, job sites, and the corporate headquarters.
Qualifications
- Experience: 7-10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 3 years in a division leadership role.
- Industry Expertise: Mandatory prior experience in commercial construction, mechanical contracting, manufacturing, or a highly related field.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of multi-state labor laws, skilled trade workforce dynamics, and modern HR tech stacks/HRIS.
- Education/
Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field required. SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification highly preferred. - Attributes: High emotional intelligence, decisive, business-minded, and capable of operating at both a 30,000-foot strategic level and in the operational weeds.
Compensation will be on a case-by-case basis, DOE, with a base salary + incentive/performance bonus and a robust benefits package.
