Job Development Recruitment Specialist – Career & Internship Center

Location: University of Baltimore, 30 hours per week.

Job Overview:
The Job Development Recruitment Specialist supports the Career & Internship Center’s mission by overseeing the Federally funded Job Location and Development (JLD) program, providing placement assistance, and delivering career development services to UBalt students.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain employer relationships to increase recruitment of college students; use cold calls, email campaigns, and employer visits.
  • Coordinate recruitment events including job fairs and networking events and provide concierge services to employers.
  • Use the career management system to approve job announcements and send messages to students.
  • Conduct outreach and provide case‑management support, including job referrals and employability skill coaching.
  • Serve as on‑campus supervisor for JLD students placed in off‑campus positions; manage contracts, timesheets, and orientation for host sites.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date employer MOUs, job descriptions, and ensure compliance with federal guidelines.
  • Prepare quarterly reports for the Office of Financial Aid on placement activity and employer outreach.
  • Invite Office of Financial Aid representatives to monthly CIC meetings and facilitate communication and program oversight.
  • Coordinate annual training for student employment supervisors on Federal Work‑Study and JLD policies.
  • Ensure university compliance with Department of Education requirements and maintain federal work‑study program standards.
  • Disseminate information to on‑campus supervisors and students via the Student Employment Newsletter and other channels.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and one year of progressively responsible related experience.
  • Optional substitution of related experience for education on a year‑for‑year basis (30 college credits = one year of experience).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • Experience in student support services, Higher Education or Workforce Development.
  • Background coordinating or promoting job fairs, networking sessions, or orientations.
  • Experience coaching students/young adults on employability skills, job readiness, or career planning.
  • Experience with job development, employer outreach, or recruitment services.
  • Experience supporting experiential learning such as internships, cooperative education, or service‑learning programs.
Work Arrangement

The role requires on‑site, in‑person work at the University of Baltimore campus and periodic travel to employer sites and community events. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessary. The position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with up to two days of telework.
