Summary:
The Human Resources & Compliance Specialist provides strategic oversight of all HR functions to support the mission and goals of KIHS. This role ensures compliance with federal and state employment laws, drives organizational effectiveness through the implementation of HR systems and policies, and leads a diverse HR team in delivering high-quality services to the campus community. The specialist develops and manages talent acquisition strategies, employee relations, benefits programs, and performance management, while fostering a safe, inclusive, and productive work environment.
Serving as the primary liaison for labor relations and workplace accommodations, this position plays a key role in aligning HR practices with institutional priorities and promoting a positive organizational culture. Human Resource
- Run HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, and retention.
- Ensure compliance with federal and Maryland employment laws.
- Uphold compliant personnel files and HR policies.
- Oversee credentialing, licensure, and training.
- Serve as authority on COMAR OMHC regulations.
- Align with CARF accreditation preparation and audits.
- Ensure HIPAA workforce compliance and training.
- Uphold compliance with BHA staffing requirements.
- The Human Resource & Compliance Specialist also possesses an extensive and up-to-date understanding of federal and state employment laws to advise leadership with solutions for human resources issues and evolving organizational needs
- Additionally, they spearhead the implementation of an HRIS or similar system to facilitate processes and provide comprehensive data and reports on HR activities
- Leads a staff of managerial, professional, and clerical employees responsible for providing all HR services to the campus community
- Develops methods for collecting feedback internally on program satisfaction and modifies programs as needed
- Utilizes available technology to maximize operational efficiencies and provide enhanced delivery of HR services to the campus community
