Linux Administrator and Data Processor

Axle is seeking a Linux Administrator and Data Processor to join our vibrant team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) supporting the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) in Baltimore, MD.

The purpose of this position is to administer several Linux computers in our research facility and to perform basic data processing.

• Administer Linux computer systems and provide user support.
• Perform basic data processing, cleaning, and statistical analysis of experimental data.
• Maintain and upgrade hardware, operating systems, and high‑performance computing services.
• Design, develop, document, analyze, create, test, and modify computer systems and integrations.
• Provide performance tuning and resource optimization across scientific high‑performance computing architecture.
• Develop methods for analyzing complex datasets and document methodological approaches.
• Compile and manage data, assist with quality control, and produce reports, graphs, and figures for presentation.
• Prepare data and analysis for presentations, manuscripts, and publication.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Administration, Computer Science, or related field.

• Experience administering Linux systems.
• Knowledge of data structure, data management, and programming languages.
• Strong statistical analysis skills using R or Python.
• Database management experience with SQLite, MySQL, Maria
  
  DB, or similar.
• Experience with Bash, Git, and scientific data analysis tools.
• Ability to perform statistical modeling and data cleaning.

$75,000 - $85,000 USD
