Job Description Summary

Responsible for the development and support of the Business Intelligence Analytics products and platforms including data warehouse, data visualizations, and interactive reports. Apply BI and Analytics subject matter expertise to provide business support with tools and data representations that help increase organizational profit and meet strategic goals.

Responsibilities
  • Continuously develops and maintains an understanding of BI technology and architecture, including data warehousing, dimensional modeling, OLAP, reporting tools, and information delivery.
  • Develops & maintains expertise with MSBI tools including Excel/Power Pivot, SSRS, Performance Point, SSIS, and SSAS/BISM.
  • Develops database and/or data presentation solutions to deliver information to end-users accurately and efficiently.
  • Extracts, transforms, and loads data using data management tools and T-SQL.
  • Analyzes, understands, and documents user needs to fulfill user story requests from internal business customers.
  • Contributes to, and possibly leads, project teams developing or modifying highly complex information solutions.
  • Administers & maintains the BI Portal, data warehouse, and existing BI solutions.
  • Continuously develops expertise in the data and data models within the data warehouse and the supported business domains.
  • May construct data models, data dictionaries, and report glossaries.
  • May conduct user interviews and training sessions.
  • May mentor teammates on BI tools and methods.
  • Conducts and may facilitate internal testing and user acceptance testing.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience. Minimum of 2 - 5 years of work experience.
  • Strong understanding of BI concepts & tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to write SQL/TSQL queries to retrieve/modify data.
  • Previous experience with BIDS/MSBI Stack.
  • Ability to abstract a concept into lifecycle components and events.
  • Significant experience developing physical dimensional models, OLAP processes or data visualizations OR significant experience in data modeling, data discovery and applying data to solve business problems.
  • Proven problem solving ability and willingness to think creatively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • SAS programming experience
  • Reporting and Visualization tools – Alteryx, Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI
  • Strong experience with MSBI tools, including SSRS, SSIS, and/or SSAS
  • Moderate to advanced MS Excel skills
  • Conceptual, logical and/or physical data modeling experience
  • Insurance industry experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of multiple IT platforms
  • Ability to anticipate future needs and challenges
  • Organizational and prioritization skills with sound judgment
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Compensation & Benefits

The salary for this position generally ranges between $80,000 - $95,000 annually. The salary range is a good faith estimate and actual starting pay is determined by qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote), and operational needs. Salary may vary above or below the stated amounts, as permitted by law.
