Position SummaryHRUCKUS is seeking a VMware System Engineer with a Full Scope Polygraph for an onsite position in Annapolis Junction, MD. This role supports mission‑critical environments by redesigning and optimizing VMware infrastructure as the organization migrates to the Hardware as a Service (HWaaS) platform.
Position DescriptionThe VMware Engineer will lead architectural design, system migration, and administration of VMware environments, ensuring secure, optimized, and scalable operations. The role involves close collaboration with network, storage, and security teams while driving automation and standardization across platforms.
Required Qualifications- Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- Deep knowledge and experience with VMware vCenter and VMware system administration
- Experience migrating from VMware 7.x to 8.x
- Hands‑on experience with Cisco switches, VPNs, VLANs, and server deployment
- General Windows and Linux system administration, including patching and sustainment
- Knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Power Distribution Units (PDU)
- Familiarity with enclave security and firewall technologies (e.g., NSX, Cisco ASA)
- Experience with VMware NSX
- Knowledge of Hardware as a Service (HWaaS) platforms
- Strong background in system optimization, automation, and infrastructure design
- Ability to translate customer requirements into secure, production‑ready solutions

- Security Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph is required
- Salary Range: $150,000 - $190,000 per year
