Senior Consultant, Engineering & Technical Services (Full Stack Engineer)
At Fearless, the Senior Consultant, Engineering & Technical Services serves in the capacity of a mid-senior level Full Stack Engineer on an exciting project supporting the Federal government within the GSA.
Login.gov is the federal government's single sign-on (SSO) solution for public-facing services. Instead of creating separate usernames and passwords for different agencies, users can create one Login.gov account and use it across several participating websites.
Fearless supports the authentication, identity verification, and partner experience domains. This work involves close partnership and daily collaboration with federal stakeholders and clients to continuously enhance and strengthen the product s identity capabilities, ensuring users have a secure, seamless login experience.
What You ll DoThis role is accountable for participating in on-call and workday deployment rotations and providing incident response as needed. You will be a trusted partner working with product, security, privacy and federal stakeholders to deliver remarkable results. As a senior consultant, you will engage in proactive, solutions oriented communication with the team and client.

- Take ownership of risk management by monitoring deliverables across the team, identifying issues early, and coaching teammates on mitigation strategies while keeping leadership informed.
- Shape client engagement and intelligence-gathering efforts by actively cultivating relationships with stakeholders, synthesizing insights across the client organization and partner ecosystem, and providing Fearless leaders with actionable recommendations that inform strategy and strengthen delivery outcomes.
Skills and Qualifications Required for this Project:
- Backend Development:
Strong proficiency in Ruby (Rails) (Login.gov s primary stack), Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs, Service-oriented or modular architecture experience, Strong domain modeling skills - Frontend Development:
Basic proficiency in JavaScript and React, Accessibility-first UI development mindset (Section 508/WCAG) - Identity & Authentication Expertise: OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, Multi-factor authentication (MFA), Identity proofing (remote + in-person), Fraud detection concepts, Risk-based authentication
- Knowledge of Identity Proofing:
Document verification (e.g., driver s license scanning), Knowledge-based verification alternatives, Vendor integrations (e.g., proofing services), Understanding of NIST IAL2 / AAL2 requirements, specifically NIST SP 800-63-3 (Digital Identity Guidelines) and IAL, AAL, FAL levels - Cloud & Infrastructure (AWS-Focused): AWS Proficient, RDS (Postgres), Cloud Watch logging & monitoring, CI/CD pipelines
- Infrastructure as Code:
Terraform, Git Hub Actions or similar CI systems
