Job SummaryThe BCIT Geographic Information Systems (GIS) internship will provide opportunities to learn how the City of Baltimore utilizes spatial technology to support critical operations. The intern will work alongside experienced GIS professionals to perform a range of tasks, including spatial data management, map production, map application development, and coordination with government stakeholders to support requests and projects. The internship offers exposure to an increasingly challenging and fast‑paced environment, with various training opportunities available.

- Project and workflow technical documentation
- Training and skill development
- ESRI software experience (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Survey
123) - Microsoft Office experience
- Currently attend a Maryland high school as a junior or senior
- Currently attend a Maryland higher education institution
- Graduated from a Maryland high school but currently attend a non‑Maryland higher education institution
- Graduated from a Maryland high school, and is currently enrolled or graduated from a career technical training program
- Coursework in information technology, computer science, or business analytics
- Proficient with ESRI software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Survey
123) - Organizational skills
- Critical thinking
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Project management skills
- Ability to present recommendations clearly and concisely
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
