Software Asset Management Specialist

Description

Leidos is seeking a Software Asset Management Specialist to help lead SSA's Digital Modernization Strategy and build next‑generation enterprise APIs and responsive user interfaces supporting the Social Security Administration. Selected candidates must be willing to work on‑site in Woodlawn, MD five days a week.

• Manage the end‑to‑end Software Asset Management (SAM) lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, utilization, and retirement of software assets across the enterprise.
• Utilize Service Now SAM Pro to track software installations, license compliance, entitlements, and optimize usage.
• Track software entitlements, monitor license usage, and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance and cost‑efficiency.
• Perform data analysis in Service Now to provide visibility into software usage and compliance status.
• Compile financial, contractual, and inventory analysis data to support enterprise IT asset lifecycle management.
• Recommend and enforce SAM policies and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate audit risks.
• Respond to internal and external audit requests, investigate licensing discrepancies, and resolve compliance issues.
• Support onboarding of new enterprise software titles into Service Now SAM Pro, including gathering requirements and documenting business needs.
• Identify redundant or overlapping software titles through data consolidation and provide recommendations.
• Assist in developing strategies for software consolidation, licensing compliance, and cost reduction initiatives.
• Analyze business processes, data flows, and operational reporting to support system enhancements.
• Develop documentation, reports, and process improvements.

Master's degree and three years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience, or nine years of experience in lieu of a degree.

• Five or more years of experience with Enterprise‑Wide Software Asset Management.
• Three or more years of experience with Service Now SAM Pro and Hardware Asset Management (HAM Pro) implementations.
• Knowledge of enterprise software licensing, contract management, and asset lifecycle processes.
• Familiarity with asset data normalization, catalog items, work spaces, and compliance dashboards.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in data management.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong problem‑solving ability.
• Experience building and maturing enterprise IT asset governance programs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.

• ITIL certification.
• Governance, audit, or risk certification.

Pay Range: $65,650.00 – $. The pay range is a general guideline and may be adjusted based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and market conditions.
