Position: Mid/Senior-level Scrum Master with TS/SCI Polygraph

Overview

Leidos has a new and exciting opportunity for a Mid/Senior-level Scrum Master in our Intel Sector's Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). The role supports a large, complex, fast-paced technical program using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Program execution follows Dev Ops practices and uses Behavior Driven Development (BDD), test automation tools, and a full suite of team collaboration tools. The program provides system engineering, development, test, integration, and operational support, focused on injecting new technology and adding advanced capabilities while continuing to support an ongoing mission and operational system.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate self-organizing teams to progress against Program Increment (PI) commitments.
  • Protect the team from scope creep during PI execution.
  • Remove impediments and coordinate with Release Train Engineers on solutions.
  • Help team members communicate, coordinate, and cooperate.
  • Coach, support, and enforce Scrum processes and other process rules.
  • Ensure a clear understanding of the Definition of Done and how to meet it.
  • Coordinate with other teams on the Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and communicate status to management.
  • Work with Product Owner(s) to review and prioritize features.
  • Lead SAFe ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews with demos, Sprint Retrospectives, and PI Planning.
  • Develop User Stories with Product Owners and System Engineers to meet feature acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain information radiators and share team metrics; identify when new metrics are needed and drive improvements.
  • Coach teams on Agile and Scrum principles to drive continuous improvement.
  • Observe team dynamics, identify strengths and weaknesses, and guide the team toward higher productivity.
  • Promote teamwork to achieve Sprint goals and lead teams toward Agile maturity.
  • Create a collaborative, learning environment and explore delivery improvements (e.g., pair programming, cross-functional training).
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and at least 8 years of relevant work experience (additional experience may substitute for a degree).
  • At least 4 years of experience as a Scrum Master for a software development or similar technical team, preferably as a full-time Scrum Master.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or similar agile certification (PMI-ACP).
  • Hands-on experience using agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Version One, Rally, IBM RTC).
  • Experience working on a large, technical program with varied systems and groups in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with large software systems including hardware integration and test.
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary technical development teams.
  • Experience using SAFe as the agile development methodology.
  • Experience using Kanban to improve flow on support teams.
  • Experience driving organizational agile adoption and change.
  • Experience applying test automation, test-driven development, CI/CD to achieve built-in quality.
