Data Analytics Associate OverviewOur small, dynamic media planning and buying agency is looking for an entry-level Analytics Associate to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 1 to 2 years of work experience who is eager to launch a career in media analytics and contribute directly to the success of client campaigns.
The Analytics Associate will play a crucial role in measuring and interpreting campaign performance, transforming raw data into actionable insights for our planning and buying teams. You'll be instrumental in ensuring our strategies are data-driven and our clients achieve their marketing objectives. This role will work hand-in-hand with the Director of Research and Analytics, and the rest of the Polaris team as well.
DataAnalytics Associate Responsibilities
Data Compilation & Reporting:
Collect, clean, and consolidate media performance data from various sources (e.g., ad servers, platform APIs, client reports), with direction and oversight from the Director of Research & Analytics.
Develop and maintain routine and ad‑hoc performance reports, dashboards, and scorecards for internal teams and clients.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all compiled data and reports, along with other administrative support tasks and projects.
Performance Analysis:
Analyze campaign results against key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks, with direction and oversight from the Director of Research & Analytics.
Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization within media campaigns (e.g., paid search, social, programmatic display, traditional media, in collaboration with other members of the team, including the Director of Research & Analytics).
Translate complex data findings into clear, concise, and compelling narratives and recommendations.
Database Management:
Assist in the basic maintenance and organization of internal data warehouse and reporting systems.
Support the standardization of data collection and reporting processes across accounts.
Experience:
1 to 2 years of professional work experience, internships, or academic projects in an analytical or quantitative role. Applicants who do not have exact equivalent experience are encouraged to apply.Education:
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Marketing, Business, Economics, Statistics, or a related discipline.Data Proficiency:
Proficiency with spreadsheet software is a must, specifically Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (including Power Query, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/INDEX MATCH, conditional formulas, and data cleaning techniques).Database Fundamentals:
Basic understanding of database concepts and experience with basic database management tasks (e.g., data querying, organization, and structure).Attention to Detail:
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and quality.Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present data clearly to non‑technical audiences.Growth mindset:
An eagerness to learn and grow is an imperative part of this role.Prior experience:
Prior political or campaign work experience is a plus, but not required.Data Visualization:
Familiarity with or desire to learn a data visualization tool such as Microsoft Power BI, Looker (formerly Google Data Studio), Tableau, or similar platforms.Media Knowledge:
Basic understanding of media metrics (e.g., CPM, CPC, CTR, CPA, ROAS) and the digital advertising ecosystem.Programming:
Exposure to a programming or querying language like SQL or Python is a plus.
$60,000 - $70,000 annually depending on experience
