Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Application Interface Engineer to support enterprise application integrations, cloud platforms, workflow engines, document repositories, and external government systems. This role will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable integration solutions that improve operational efficiency, data accessibility, and service delivery across a modern cloud-based ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise integration solutions that enable secure and reliable communication between internal applications, cloud services, workflow platforms, document management systems, and external agency partners.
• Build and support scalable APIs, integration services, and middleware components using .NET, C#, Node.js, and Python while ensuring high availability, performance, maintainability, and security.
• Develop and implement secure data exchange solutions utilizing REST, SOAP, OAuth 2.0, and other industry-standard protocols to support mission-critical business processes and sensitive information exchanges.
• Support Azure-hosted integration environments by configuring, maintaining, and optimizing services such as Azure App Services, Azure Application Gateway, Azure Active Directory, Azure AD B2C, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure Key Vault.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, business analysts, quality assurance teams, and client stakeholders to design technical solutions that align with business objectives and operational requirements.
• Participate in system integration testing, deployment planning, release management activities, and production support efforts to ensure stable and successful delivery of platform enhancements.
• Monitor integration performance, troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions that improve reliability and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to technical architecture reviews, integration standards, documentation efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives that support long-term platform sustainability.
• Support Agile delivery processes including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, code reviews, and cross-functional collaboration activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor''''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• Seven (7) or more years of software development experience supporting enterprise applications, business-critical systems, or large-scale technology environments.
• Five (5) or more years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise integration solutions utilizing APIs, middleware technologies, and service-oriented architectures.
• Demonstrated experience developing backend services and integration components using .NET technologies, Node.js, Python, or comparable enterprise development frameworks.
• Strong understanding of application integration patterns, API design principles, data exchange standards, and enterprise architecture concepts.
• Experience supporting cloud-based environments and distributed systems hosted within Microsoft Azure or comparable cloud platforms.
• Proven ability to implement secure authentication, authorization, encryption, and data protection mechanisms supporting organizational security requirements.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues involving multiple applications and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across technical, business, and leadership teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Federal, State, or Local Government technology programs and digital modernization initiatives within highly regulated environments.
• Experience working within workers'''' compensation, insurance, healthcare, claims processing, financial services, or other industries that manage sensitive data and complex business workflows.
• Familiarity with business process management platforms, workflow automation tools, case management systems, or enterprise operational platforms supporting large-scale business processes.
