Quality Assurance Specialist

Position Overview

Quality Assurance Specialist focuses on testing software systems, identifying deficiencies, documenting defects, participating in design reviews, and collaborating with developers, network engineers, and system administrators to evaluate systems for the Department of War warfighter and simulator environments.

• Develop and perform tests to identify hardware and software deficiencies and verify compliance with system requirements.
• Document software defects and requirement compliance, report defects to developers, and maintain databases of known issues.
• Participate in software design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, operational characteristics, product designs, and schedules.
• Collaborate with developers, network engineers, and system administrators to evaluate systems in a networked environment.
• Support simulator environments by validating virtual systems against real‑world platform behavior and mission conditions.
• Apply knowledge of mission profiles and operational workflows to test planning and execution.
• Collaborate with pilots and operational users to gather feedback, assess realism, and ensure virtual environments reflect real‑world performance and constraints.
• Expand experience across testing disciplines: manual, automation, performance, accessibility, usability, user acceptance, simulator support, and process improvement.

• Experience in quality assurance or software testing.
• Knowledge of computer systems and testing software applications.
• Ability to work flexible hours and shift work.
• HS diploma or GED with at least 2 years of QA/testing experience, or a bachelor’s degree.
• Secret clearance required.

• Experience working in an Agile SAFe environment.
• Experience with scheduling tools.
• Knowledge of JIRA, Git Hub, and Confluence.
• Knowledge of how systems operate within a networked environment.
• Ability to write and execute test plans.
• Strong communication skills.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.

The projected compensation range is $52,900 to $108,000 (annualized USD). This range reflects the typical salary, which is one component of the total compensation package. This posting will close within 90 days from the posting date.
