Position: Technical Instructor (IT Support) New United States

Job Overview

Per Scholas is seeking an IT Support instructor to become a member of our Training Team. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, problem‑solving, and possesses strong technical and instructional skills with the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Support instructor‑led training that prepares students for entry‑to‑mid‑level IT Support careers; daily instruction, assessment administration, attendance, tutoring, evaluation and monitoring of student progress.
  • Provide students with access to external learning resources and study aids aligned with the curriculum.
  • Work closely with the team to identify student needs, develop individual support plans, and participate in regular student‑status meetings.
  • Maintain and update Salesforce and/or LMS with grades, certification scores, and progress notes.
  • Assist in maintaining training curricula, syllabi, lesson plans, and other classroom materials.
Instructional Skill Sets
  • 1–3 years of teaching or training experience.
  • Strong technical background and ability to convey complex material.
  • Clear communication in live digital conversations via Zoom or in‑person settings.
Required Technical Skills
  • Proficient IT support fundamentals – hardware, software, networking.
  • Familiarity with Windows, macOS, Linux, help‑desk tools, remote‑desktop and diagnostic utilities.
  • Experience troubleshooting software installations, network configurations and hardware malfunctions.
  • Knowledge of IT security protocols, best practices and SLAs.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms, virtualization, mobile device management, Wi‑Fi networking, Windows Server, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, RAID, backup strategies.
Preferred Technical Skills
  • Diagnosing and repairing hardware (desktops, laptops, peripherals).
  • Operating‑system installation, configuration, troubleshooting across Windows, macOS, Linux.
  • Wired and wireless network setup, IP addressing, routing, troubleshooting.
  • Mobile device management and security across Android, iOS.
  • Windows Server administration – AD, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, storage solutions, backup.
Professional Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong technical aptitude (Google Sheets, Excel, Slides, PowerPoint, Salesforce, Slack, Zoom).
  • Excellent written communication, presentation, and customer‑service skills.
  • Project‑management and organizational skills with follow‑through.
  • Prior IT background (desire to learn if minimal) and passion for technology.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+ preferred.
  • At least three years’ experience in an IT support role.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range: $60,000 – $65,000, adjusted by geography, qualifications and experience.
  • Full‑time paid time off: over 40 days annually including 22 holidays, 1 week off for Independence Day and one week before the New Year.
  • 80 wellness hours per year for personal/health use.
