Software Engineer 2 – Kubernetes, Python, Docker
Location:
Annapolis Junction, Maryland
Clearance: TS/SCI – Polygraph required

Management & design of analytic processing systems. Implement and manage multi‑tier systems based on Kubernetes and related container platforms. Assist researchers in containerizing analytics, accommodating data security and user authentication, and ensuring Agency Network Security compliance. Support transition from research‑supported platforms to Agency corporate systems.
ResponsibilitiesAs a SWE, you will:
- Monitor and maintain self‑hosted Kubernetes environments.
- Develop, build, and scale containerized applications, including Docker and helm charts.
- Collaborate with researchers to identify data formats and build tools for containers.
- Configure ports and help port tools to new environments.
- Design and develop scalable workflows and maintain documentation.
- Ensure authentication, security, and compliance with platform requirements (CASPORT, PKI).
- Self‑hosted Kubernetes
- Monitoring Kubernetes environments
- Python
- Docker
- Containerization services
- Linux (Ubuntu)
- Experience with Helm charts
- Understanding workflows and scaling them
- Familiarity with Lab Bench
- Authentication and security requirements for platforms
- Experience with CASPORT, PKI
- Documentation writing and maintenance
- Build Kubernetes environments from scratch
Fourteen (14) years experience as a SWE in similar‑scope programs and contracts.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
OR four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes, which may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
Salary Range$206 k – $251 k (annually). Salary will be based on experience and location.
