Job Requirements
We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to support the Operations & Maintenance team on a GSA program that we are modernizing. This senior‑level role supports a mission‑critical federal system built on legacy Documentum in AWS and leads efforts to enhance automation, pipelines, system integration, and operational reliability. The engineer will also support integration and O&M activities related to AI‑enabled components.
This position also supports operations of the production environments including observability and troubleshooting issues.
- Provide application maintenance and production support for existing enterprise systems.
- Diagnose and implement bug fixes, patches, and performance improvements in production environments.
- Support legacy systems (including PostgreSQL, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible; Documentum familiarity is a plus) until migration is complete.
- Collaborate with Dev Ops, system administrators, and security specialists to ensure 24/7 availability and 99.5% uptime targets are met.
- Analyze production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Contribute to release management by preparing release notes, coordinating deployments, and validating production changes.
- Maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, architecture diagrams, and change logs.
- Assist with migration planning and modernization activities, ensuring continuity between legacy and modernized environments.
- Fosters collaboration with cross‑functional teams by taking the initiative and driving conversations.
- Coach, mentor, and develop peers that elevate team capability and technical expertise using clear and persuasive communication of engineering solutions to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

- Drive accountability and delivery by ensuring project objectives are not only met on time but aligned with client priorities and Fearless standards of excellence. Anticipate risks and implement proactive solutions to keep initiatives on track.

- Deliver expected outcomes relative to high‑quality code and maintainable systems.
- Offer and implement innovative solutions that include engineering best practices through new tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Lead and align stakeholders with product and project goals that advance customer satisfaction as well as Fearless’ objectives, strategy, and mission.
- Serve as a trusted advisor in your area of expertise.
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or operations support.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
- Strong background in Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar enterprise application languages used in legacy systems.
- Experience with PostgreSQL databases (administration, integration, or troubleshooting).
- Knowledge of implementing cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and microservice patterns;
Documentum experience is a plus. - Experience managing network/compute/database infrastructure with infrastructure‑as‑code;
Kubernetes or Ansible experience a plus. - Familiarity with incident management and root cause analysis in production environments.
- Experience working in compliance‑driven environments with federal IT standards (NIST SP 800‑53, FedRAMP, RMF).
