Software Engineer, Machine Learning​/ ML Engineer, AI Engineer (Applied​/Software)

Python Developer or Principal Software Engineer (LLM/MLOps) — On Site, Baltimore MD

We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer with hands on experience in large language models (LLMs) and machine learning operations (MLOps) to support initiatives at the Executive / commissioner level within a secure federal.gov environment.

• Build, fine tune, and deploy LLM based applications (RAG, embeddings, vector databases)
• Develop and maintain MLOps pipelines, CI/CD workflows, and automated model monitoring
• Build secure REST APIs and microservices for model inference
• Work with structured and unstructured data, ETL pipelines, and cloud/on‑prem data platforms
• Support model governance, drift detection, and compliance control
• Collaborate with cross functional teams and produce clear documentation

• 7+ years of Python development
• Strong hands on experience with LLMs, transformers, and applied Natural Language Processing
• Experience deploying ML systems in secure or federal environments
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with stakeholders
• Ability to work on site in Baltimore/Woodlawn (local or willing to relocate)
• U.S. Citizenship strongly preferred due to federal suitability requirements

• Experience supporting large federal agencies
• Familiarity with federal application adjacent tech stacks (Java/Spring, DB2/Postgres, Open Shift)
• Experience with Dev Sec Ops  and automated testing
• Background in NLP, deep learning, or applied machine learning
• Hands on engineering culture with high communication expectations
