We look for an enterprising System Administrator to develop and implement Windows‑ and Linux‑based engineering solutions within a government software hosting facility at the NAVAIR base in PAX River, MD. This position is future funded and not expected to begin before September 1, 2026.
ClearanceAn ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required. Candidates must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance after beginning this work. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.
Requirements- At least three years of experience performing responsibilities listed in this job requisition.
- Experience evaluating Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance including performing Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scanning.
- Certification in a Windows or Linux operating environment.
- US Citizenship required to obtain clearance.
- Provide engineering solutions for various and unique problem sets and customers in a government software hosting facility.
- Deploy and maintain physical and virtual hardware infrastructure, including virtual machines and containers.
- Perform routine maintenance and configuration changes to various physical and virtual hosts.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on servers, workstations, and IT equipment.
- Maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.
- Manage user accounts and permissions.
- Deploy and maintain software applications.
- Troubleshoot technical issues.
- Maintain documentation, including knowledge base, incident response actions, system configurations, and other information related to system administration.
- Provide technical support to customers, ranging from resolving technical issues to providing guidance and best practices.
- Secure information systems and applications to current DoD guidance.
- Maintain configuration and security posture of information systems through continuous monitoring and routine security events/reporting.
- Participate in project planning using Agile methodology.

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $75,000‑$150,000 USD. Compensation is determined by factors such as experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, and is set in accordance with Sim Ventions’ corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.
