Data Migration Lead

Pay Range: $40hr - $45hr

The Data Migration Lead will manage and facilitate the migration of financial, billing, and tax data from a Cobalt mainframe environment to a modern SaaS platform.

This role involves business process analysis, requirements gathering, collaboration with technical teams, stakeholder communication, testing, and supporting change management initiatives to ensure a successful transition to the new system.

Responsibilities:

• Data Migration Leadership:
  Lead data migration efforts, ensuring accuracy, security, and integrity of financial, billing, and tax data.
• Business Process Analysis:
  Analyze existing processes, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and propose optimized solutions for integration with the new SaaS platform.
• Requirements Gathering and Documentation:
  Work with stakeholders to capture and document business and technical requirements, including data mapping, transformation rules, workflows, and reporting needs.
• Collaboration with Technical Teams:
  Partner with developers, database administrators, data analysts, and SaaS vendors to design, test, and deploy migration solutions.
• Testing and Quality Assurance:
  
  Develop and execute testing strategies, including data validation, system testing, UAT, and post-implementation reviews.
• Change Management:
  Support end-user training, documentation of new processes, and a smooth transition to the SaaS solution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of data transformation, ETL processes, data mapping, and SQL queries.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to lead workshops, meetings, and presentations.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and experience supporting project milestones and schedules.
• Minimum 5 years of experience on projects within local government agencies, with knowledge of public sector processes and regulations.
• Proven experience leading large-scale data migrations, preferably from mainframe to modern SaaS platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent certification.
• Experience in change management strategies for technology transitions.
• Familiarity with SaaS financial and billing platforms such as Oracle ERP Cloud, Workday Financials, or similar.
• Knowledge of Cobalt mainframe systems, including data structures and processing workflows.
• Strong analytical and business analysis skills, including process diagrams, requirements documentation, and data migration strategies.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
