Scientific Linux Researcher

Axle, a bioscience and IT company, is seeking a Scientific Linux Researcher to support the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) at the National Institutes of Health. The role focuses on supporting Linux computers in a research facility and performing data analysis to accelerate research discoveries.

• Troubleshoot Linux-based computer equipment, document issues, and implement corrective actions
• Perform Linux administration and data analysis in support of research programs
• Maintain and operate Linux-based laboratory computers and high-performance computing resources
• Conduct laboratory experiments, manage data storage, record-keeping, and data retrieval across multiple IT systems
• Coordinate quality control, equipment maintenance, and supply management; present findings at laboratory meetings and national scientific conferences

• Linux administration experience
• Data management and data analysis skills
• Proficiency in Linux, Unix, Bash, and Git
• Knowledge of Python or R
• Background in Computer Science, Information Sciences, Computer Administration, or related field
