Junior Computer Operator - Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD

Martek Global Services, Inc. ("Martek") provides IT talent to the Department of Defense. The role is Junior Computer Operator supporting the High Performance Computing Moderation Program at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

• Monitor and operate high-performance computers and peripheral equipment to process scientific or engineering data.
• Continuously monitor operating and error messages from equipment, storage devices, printers, and control panels.
• Set up and run diagnostic tests; record and report errors or machine malfunctions.
• Attend to incidental tasks such as maintaining production records, replenishing stock items, and distributing output materials.
• Work with multiple systems as required.

• Candidate must possess a Secret Clearance or be able to obtain one.
• High school diploma with 4 years experience; OR associate’s degree with 2 years experience; OR bachelor’s degree (or higher) with no experience.

• Experience with HPC systems and technologies (Cray, IBM, SGI, etc.).
• Knowledge of Linux operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, other variants).
• Familiarity with Infini Band, Intel Omni‑Path interconnects.
• Experience with workload schedulers (PBS, SLURM, LSF).
• Knowledge of CPUs (Intel Xeon, AMD EPYC, ARM) and GPU (Nvidia).
• Understanding of ITIL Foundation concepts.
