As a Field Services Technician, you will provide hardware, software, and structural cabling technical service and support, installation, configuration, and problem resolution in PC, network, and infrastructure environments. You will perform inventory and asset recording, complete required paperwork, and maintain accurate documentation. Daily travel to customer locations is required; a flexible work schedule, including overnight stays, is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and support new hardware and software infrastructure.
- Ensure that hardware and software systems are maintained.
- Provide technical support to users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence.
- Create work instructions and installation documentation.
- Act as the liaison between the Zones team and the customer.
- Travel to customer locations and possess a flexible work schedule, including overnight stays.
- Provide own vehicle with mileage reimbursement.
- Provide own cell phone (monthly company reimbursement).
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience with PC systems, peripherals, structural cabling, and common software programs and operating systems.
- Experience with Way station, Restaurant Builder, NewPOS.
- A+ certification.
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, including weekend departures, off‑hour travel, and frequent overnight stays.
- Retail and point‑of‑sale experience.
- Server and network rack and stack and connectivity experience.
- Familiarity with standard Windows operating systems and Office suites.
- Apple iOS knowledge.
- Ability to conduct thorough inventory and asset recording and complete paperwork, including vendor warranties.
- Ability to perform final configuration tasks on customer premises.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Digital signage experience desired.
Qualified candidates can expect an hourly range of $35.00–$40.00.
