Developer, Neuroscience

• Support creation, implementation, maintenance, performance, production support, and documentation of departmental and enterprise-wide application systems
• Install, modify, and test new or upgraded applications, operating systems, file structures, hardware, communication devices, and productivity tools
• Assist with database maintenance and application system code support
• Support business, clinical, and education problems by meeting with clients and senior IT colleagues to understand processes and issues
• Review system requirements and research existing technology to understand business requirements
• Contribute to project tasks, functional and technical specifications, data structures, data transformation, algorithms, and data output
• Document code and associated processes according to development methodologies
• Create and document test scenarios and test application changes
• Create and maintain technical and end-user documentation
• Assist with implementation under change-management policies and procedures
• Monitor changes, review processing and output, resolve problems, and ensure smooth transitions
• Triage and resolve issues to provide prompt, effective service

• Bachelor's Degree
• No prior professional experience required
• Additional related experience may be substituted for education
• Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, subject to the JHU equivalency formula
• Related classwork or internships with computer systems and applications preferred
• Basic understanding of the project life cycle
• Knowledge of application systems, operating systems, file structures, hardware, communication devices, productivity tools, databases, and application system code
• Ability to assist with application installation, modification, testing, maintenance, and support
• Ability to use appropriate computer languages and tools for application development
• Ability to create test scenarios and technical/end-user documentation
• Ability to triage and resolve issues
• Successful candidates subject to a pre-employment background check

Demonstrates proficiency in application systems support, including installation, modification, testing, and maintenance. Capable of creating technical documentation and test scenarios while effectively triaging and resolving issues.
