Key Responsibilities

In this Divorce Law Attorney / Litigation Associate Attorney role, you will:

• Represent clients in family law disputes, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and property division

• Draft and review pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and related court filings

• Prepare cases for hearings, mediations, and trials, including evidence organization and witness preparation

• Conduct legal research and stay current on developments in Maryland family law

• Attend court hearings and trials, presenting arguments and advocating effectively

• Provide strategic legal counsel to clients throughout the divorce and custody process

• Collaborate closely with paralegals and support staff to ensure efficient case management

• Maintain deadlines and manage multiple matters while delivering excellent client service

This position offers substantial responsibility for a growing Civil Litigation Associate and a strong platform for attorneys seeking a long-term Partner-track position path in family law.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

• Admission to the state bar and in good standing (Maryland Bar required or eligible for prompt admission)

• 2+ years of experience in family law litigation (divorce and custody preferred)

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client-facing representation

• Ability to manage multiple cases, meet deadlines, and stay detail-oriented

• Commitment to providing high-quality advocacy in sensitive and high-impact matters
