A premier Baltimore law firm is seeking a talented Real Estate Associate (3–6 years’ experience) to join our highly regarded Real Estate and Business Transactions Group. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated attorney to work directly with sophisticated developers, owners, investors, and lenders on complex, high-profile commercial real estate matters throughout the region.
About the PracticeOur Real Estate and Business Transactions Group advises clients at every stage of the real estate life cycle — from acquisition and entitlement through development, financing, construction, leasing, and disposition. We are known for delivering strategic, business-minded counsel on sophisticated transactions that shape communities and drive economic growth.
The OpportunityThis client-facing role offers meaningful responsibility, early exposure to complex transactions, and the opportunity to build long‑term client relationships. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, demonstrates strong drafting and negotiation skills, and can manage multiple matters with precision and efficiency.
Responsibilities:- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating:
- Purchase and sale agreements
- Commercial leases (retail and office)
- Development and construction-related agreements
- Easement and access agreements
- Property management and consulting agreements
- Representing:
- Sellers and buyers in acquisitions and dispositions
- Landlords and tenants in retail and office leasing
- Lenders and borrowers in debt financing transactions
- Sponsors and investors in equity financing structures
- Working on mixed‑use, multi‑family, affordable housing, shopping center, and office developments
- Advising on condominium regimes, homeowners’ associations, and related governance matters
- 3–6 years of commercial real estate transactional experience
- Experience with debt and equity financing
- Familiarity with condominium and HOA formation and operations
- Exposure to (or interest in learning) tax‑advantaged real estate structures, including:
- Low‑Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC)
- Historic Tax Credits
- New Markets Tax Credits
