About the Opportunity

We’re supporting a search for a Supply Chain Manager with a growing engineering and manufacturing organization in Maryland. This is a hands‑on supply chain leadership role supporting procurement, logistics, inventory management, shipping and receiving, ERP/MRP systems, supplier performance, and continuous improvement. The right person will be organized, self‑directed, comfortable in a small‑team environment, and able to help build structure as the business continues to grow.

This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, improving processes, supporting production needs, and helping shape the future of a supply chain function.

What You’ll Do

You’ll lead supply chain activity across procurement, logistics, inventory, planning, ERP/MRP, and shipping and receiving.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Lead, develop, and implement supply chain strategies aligned with company goals
  • Manage and optimize logistics, procurement, and inventory management
  • Identify, select, and maintain supplier relationships
  • Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing, and terms
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Manage acquisition of raw materials, parts, and finished goods
  • Support on‑time delivery and cost‑effective procurement
  • Establish and enforce inventory control strategies
  • Manage transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods
  • Lead inventory management to support accuracy, visibility, and accountability
  • Oversee demand forecasting and planning activity
  • Analyze supply chain performance data and identify improvement opportunities
  • Develop, monitor, and report on supply chain KPIs, cost analysis, and delivery performance
  • Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies
  • Support compliant supply chain practices related to trade, safety, labor, environmental, and ethical standards
  • Support bonded inventory programs to reduce lead time and improve inventory turns
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives with suppliers
  • Manage quoting for new projects, including pricing strategy and vendor collaboration
  • Oversee implementation and sustainment of MRP systems
  • Support ERP/MRP system accuracy for procurement, inventory, and production scheduling
  • Support ISO‑related procedures and internal audit activity
  • Lead and support shipping and receiving operations
  • Ensure incoming and outbound shipments are accurate, complete, and properly documented
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and program teams to prioritize, schedule, and execute shipments
  • Support packing, labeling, and shipping compliance requirements
  • Resolve shipping discrepancies with carriers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Provide hands‑on support as needed to maintain operational continuity
  • Support material movement using material handling equipment when needed
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities including task prioritization, process enforcement, performance oversight, and employee development
Who You Are

You are a hands‑on supply chain professional who can lead in a small, fast‑moving environment.

You are organized, detail‑focused, and comfortable jumping in where needed. You do not need heavy management to stay on top of priorities, solve problems, and keep work moving.

You would do well here if you are a servant leader, a self‑starter, and someone who wants to grow with the business while helping build a stronger supply chain function.

Preferred Experience & Attributes
  • Associate’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar supply chain, logistics, procurement, or inventory role
  • ERP system experience required
  • MRP experience required

    Deltek experience preferred
  • ISO 9001:2015 or other quality systems experience
  • Strong inventory management, procurement, logistics, and supplier management experience
  • Experience supporting production line needs and troubleshooting preferred
  • Experience with shipping and receiving operations
