Overview
The Crew Leader is responsible for overseeing landscape operations at client sites, managing a crew of 2–5 team members to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to Bright View’s quality standards. This role involves supervising service lines including basic landscape maintenance, installation, and supportive services such as irrigation, seasonal color management, and chemical applications. The Crew Leader plays a key role in maintaining client satisfaction through effective team leadership and high-quality service delivery.
Job SummaryThe Crew Leader oversees landscape operations at client sites, manages a crew of 2–5 team members, and ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Bright View’s quality standards. Responsibilities include supervising service lines such as basic landscape maintenance, installation, irrigation, seasonal color management, and chemical applications.
Duties And Responsibilities- Maintain a schedule and ensure service expectations are met
- Identify customer problems or concerns and report back to Operations Manager
- Assist in resolving issues with customer service when needed
- Ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with company policies
- Communicate regularly with Operations Manager to ensure client needs and expectations are met or exceeded
- Deliver services as specified on client sites
- Identify more efficient ways to perform work
- Coordinate service execution with Operations Manager
- Oversee day-to-day site operations and delegate work to crew members
- Provide Operations Manager feedback on crew members
- Develop and train crew members with Operations Manager
- Ensure equipment preventative maintenance is performed and equipment is in good working order
- Participate in branch meetings as directed
- Accurately capture and submit crew time logs through electronic time capture (ETC)
- Log equipment usage and maintenance cycles
- Bright View Equipment certifications
- Experience in a landscape-related field
- Demonstrated leadership among the team and with peers
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.)
- Ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.)
- Ability to bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the day
- Driver’s License
- Work in or near situations with direct automotive traffic
- Work near natural bodies of water
- Ability to work in extreme conditions – temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods
- Outdoor work in heat in dry/humid conditions with exposure to automotive traffic, natural bodies of water, fumes, dust, mechanical/electrical hazards, and direct sunlight
- Requires protective clothing and personal devices: eye protection, safety vest, gloves, hard hat, earplugs, long-sleeved shirts, and work boots
Compensation range: $17.50–$22.00 per hour.
