AWC is hiring a Operations Supervisor at our Fairfield Location in Baltimore, MD.

Operation Supervisor:

Summary of Position:

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for organizing and scheduling staff and directing the day-to-day operations of all shift functions. This position is responsible for ensuring that the scanning of vehicles in the inventory systems, and the storage/logistics of vehicles is completed by the work crews. This position coordinates the activities of all shifts under the direction of the Terminal Manager to ensure a well-coordinated, productive operation.

Functions, Duties and Tasks:
  • Responsible for the daily scheduling of personnel in order to store and move vehicles in a productive, cost efficient manner.
  • Direct the facility's day-to-day activities and assign personnel to job functions
  • Ensure personnel have the support, tools and supplies needed for production
  • Conduct quality audits and make suggestions for corrective actions as needed
  • Make appropriate changes in activities if needed
  • Ensure all AWC policies and procedures are followed
  • Daily communication with leads, other staff, and office personnel to determine staffing, supply and operational needs, and ensures these needs are met
  • Ensures new personnel receive the appropriate training
  • Responsible for the progressive disciplinary process in the area of counseling, warnings, and other corrective action to ensure that a productive labor climate exists
  • Document performance issues and coordinate all corrective action with Terminal Manager
  • Responsible for safety programs in order to provide a safe, clean workplace for all personnel and within the regulations of local, state, and OSHA standards
  • Report accidents and injuries on appropriate forms and communicate such to all appropriate customers/vendors and AWC personnel
  • Assists in the maintenance of equipment and/or company vehicles
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
  • Participates in the professional development of themselves and others at the facility
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Ensures that all associates adhere to AWC policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for safety programs in order to provide a safe, clean workplace for all personnel and within the regulations of local, state, and OSHA standards.
  • May assist with snow removal or other property maintenance issues.
  • May perform other duties from time to time at the direction of the Terminal Manager.
Education, Experience and

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must have a High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have and maintain a valid State Driver's license and have a good driving record
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Good working knowledge of the facility operations.
  • Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles
Preferred Requirements:
  • B.A. preferred – Must have a High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to work inside office and outside to oversee operations
  • Must be able to work and drive in extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to effectively supervise and delegate work to others; union experience preferred
