Warehouse Team Manager

Location:

Baltimore, MD

The Warehouse Team Manager provides necessary technical support and leadership to direct, facilitate and coordinate the day‑to‑day management of warehouse and bulk shipping areas. This position has the responsibility of assuring the efficient and economical direction of warehouse operations, including granulated and liquid operations, according to established quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Directs warehouse supervisors, liquid and granulated employees to meet and exceed all safety, health, quality and environmental regulations and requirements.
  • Directs and coordinates the loading and unloading of all warehouse operations, including granulated and liquid sucrose.
  • Directly supervises and maintains a high level of interaction with all employees.
  • Analyzes area operations to ensure processes and procedures are aligned with quality expectations and modifies the process within established limits to meet this objective at least cost.
  • Manages the picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of productivity and following FIFO policy.
  • Sets priorities on shift, meets shift objectives, ensures that work schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.
  • Drafts weekly labor schedules that support operational imperatives while maintaining labor cost based on scheduling attainment.
  • Develops supervisory and operating personnel to ensure optimum use of labor force assigned to each shift.
  • Evaluates the performance of subordinates and handles employee and labor relations problems on shift within limits of the contract, delegated authority and established guidelines.
  • Supports department leadership by communicating to senior plant level leadership on business unit performance and drives continuous improvement through team engagement.
  • Responsible for training and safety of assigned personnel and for housekeeping, sanitation and equipment maintenance in assigned areas to ensure GMP standards are maintained.
  • Schedules necessary training for personnel to ensure all personnel are qualified to execute the business plan.
  • Executes yearly performance evaluations for salary direct reports based on set yearly objectives.
  • Other duties as needed.
Qualifications

At least 5 years of management experience in industrial maintenance, warehouse organization or a similar environment. Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation. Experience supporting 24/7 operations.

Ability to work as part of a team in a unionized environment. proficiency with Microsoft Office 365. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to lead, supervise and make decisions.

Industrial food processing experience preferred.

4‑year degree or 5 years supervisory experience in a similar field required.

Benefits

The expected pay range for this position is $96,000 - $178,000 and will depend on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience. Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) and other benefits.
