This role has an onsite presence expectation of at least three days per week in Baltimore.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead effective philanthropic fundraising strategies to obtain, maintain, and grow funding support for the School’s priorities from individuals, alumni, corporations, non-profit partners, and philanthropic foundations, with a focus on increasing philanthropy from individual donors and alumni.
  • Build new revenue strategies and identify opportunities for private sector funding growth to BSPH, including managing the director of Corporate Relations within the OEA and partnering with Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures to position BSPH for corporate portfolio growth.
  • Define and lead a comprehensive alumni relations strategy, engaging the School’s worldwide alumni network in partnership with the central Office of Alumni Relations to maximize resources across the university.
  • Oversee the development, management and composition of volunteer boards and committees, primarily the Health Advisory Board, leveraging board members as both donors and strategic partners.
  • Increase, diversify, and sustain philanthropic revenue by defining priorities across the school and serving as a strategic convener to facilitate collaborations between donors, corporate partners, foundations, and faculty.
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of leadership and principal gift prospects, focusing on the $1M+ level, and lead prospect management, donor strategy development, and solicitation activities for the School, including targeted domestic and international travel.
  • Partner with the Dean to align fundraising goals with the School’s strategic priorities from the BSPH Strategic Plan.
  • As part of the university’s comprehensive fundraising campaign, partner with the Dean to further codify strategic vision within the campaign framework, identify top prospective donors, and build strategies to engage potential donors in support of fundraising and engagement metrics for the campaign launching into the public phase in Fall 2026.
  • Revise and implement the fundraising campaign for the South Building capital project, setting the course to achieve targets aligned with the school’s budget.
  • Manage BSPH development and alumni relations teams, recruiting and retaining leaders and promising contributors to achieve ambitious goals within an ever-changing environment.
  • Work in close partnership with the Associate Dean for Communications and Marketing on OEA team collaboration, external affairs priorities, shared operations/project management, and team culture.
Bloomberg School of Public Health Leadership
  • Serve on the Dean’s leadership team, working closely with BSPH leaders and faculty to define and achieve goals and priorities that advance public health.
  • Oversee development budget planning and reporting with the BSPH budget office, focusing on long‑term, multi‑year fundraising plans.
  • Establish effective relationships with department chairs, faculty, and staff to align external relations initiatives with BSPH mission, vision, and values.
  • Represent the Dean and the BSPH to external and Johns Hopkins audiences, articulating the Dean’s vision and priorities.
  • Leverage and position the Dean in initiating, deepening, and stewarding donor and volunteer relationships, both domestically and internationally.
  • Drive a high‑capacity, high‑impact engagement strategy for the Dean with external constituents, including alumni, donors, and potential partners.
